I will probably come this year from wednesday sept. 21 until saturday 24
However that is still a long wait! Maybe a frühlingsfest would be nice as well….
Alright meine Weis’N freunden…. I have missed two straight Oktoberfest’s – for the first time since the early 90’s… Sadly, I was hospitalized myself once, and had two deaths in the family another time, etc. However, I do not forsee anything stopping me from attending the 2011 celebration im Munchen. I am staying in NYC (Mid-town Manhattan LeParker Meridien) on Saturday night, 18.9.11… then flying Air Berlin direct (JFK – MUC) on Sunday, 19.9.11…
I will be staying in Munchen at the BayerischerHof Montag (19.9.11) thru Freitag (23.9.11) – fo sho! I hope to see you all there this time, as I have missed you all. Book sales are going well, so I should be able to get off food stamps and Gov’t aid to attend this year!
MunichBeerBoy
Good news! Maybe you can bring some of those food stamps, who knows Resi in the wiesn zelt will accept them in exchange for a mass or a hendl…..
Hey, if they take it for Der Halb Hendl, we are all set sir! Counting down the days my friends.. Only 218 days to go!
MunichBeerBoy
Well, I’ve goe and purchased a non-refundable Bus. Class tcket o Air Berlin (arriving 9/19/11)…. So, now, I MUST GO to Weisn # 13 for sure! ! ! ! Who is i this year? Anyone want to meet-up for pre-gamers in NYC on 9/17???
MunichBeerBoy
LOL – I will have to post a new picture of myself this week, as I am 140 lbs lighter than I was 2 years ago. I went from 390lbs to about 249 or 250… People can still recognize my old (45 in June) ugly mug though! Also, I started a lower Carb diet yesterday, and should be about 235-239 (my ultimate goal is 225) – by the time I step-off the plane in NYC on Sat. (9/17/11), to hang there for a day before my MUC flight, etc. Let’s all hook-up and show pics of our children, laugh about the old days this year!
I did purchase a new digital cam (14 MP) the other day for only $60 (Ebay) – so I have no excuse.. And that came with a carrying case and 4GB mem card!
MunichBeerBoy
We have broken 200 Ladies & Gents! A mere 198 days, 2 hours, 10 mins to go!
PROSIT!
MunichBeerBoy

Cool. We will get to hang-out Weds. & Thursday for sure,, possibly Friday… I am not certain whether I am flying-back to U.S. on Freitag or Samstag (24.9.11) yet.. I love it when a plan comes together!!!
PROSIT!
MunichBeerBoy
So better go back on the saturday then. Would be a shame to see you leave thirsty!
Only one problem with that scenario… I must return to the U.S. sooner, rather than later, as I have to prepare for LUVBEERS & Family visit to Florida in December!!!
MunichBeerBoy
You gotta stock up on beer then if he’s gonna visit you!
Very true. I have the four local Micro-Breweries on stand-by… Luckily, my good friend Luch owns one of them: www.engine15.com
MunichBeerBoy
Hello!
I will be in Munchen with a research scholarship for 3 months, starting from August. I am looking for a room to stay and it is not so easy to find something all right….Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks!
Rada
Rada: Check these hotels quickly. Getting an Einzelzimmer (Single room) during the week – much easier than a Dopplezimmer on Fri-. thru Sun.
www.Hotel-Jedermann…. Hotel Kurpfalz Hotel Excelsior Pensionen SeibelMunichBeerBoy
Sunskin: I think rada is looking for someplace for the whole 3 months. I referred him to “Oktoberfest” since you guys who hang out here know more about Munich than the rest of us….
When are you going to replace your pic with the “after” shot?
I will search a few apartment resources. Also, I promise to post a brand new photo by the end of the week!
MunichBeerBoy
Thanks!
Me and my friend Nicole will be in Europe for 6 months, starting in June!! We are definitely going to Oktoberfest. Love to see some fellow Eurotrippers there…especially ppl who’ve done it before and can give us some tips…
Lynzy & Nicole’s Life Abroad!!
MunichBeerBoy
That was brought over from the 2010 discussion, but applies to this year.. Let’s start picking-up the pace on the chatter, as we are down to ONLY 4 months to go baby!
MunichBeerBoy
Looking forward!
Here’s me lost somewhere at the 2010 fest…..
When going “incognito” at Der Fest,,, that is my favorite disguise…. Always wear a Beaver Mask – if you wish not to be seen!
MunichBeerBoy
Always good to practice a bit of muff-diving in between beers… makes you thirsty again!
“No muff too tuff, we dive at five” ! ! ! I love the smell of German Muff in the morning…
MunichBeerBoy
Okay, I am distracted now…. Mind wandering in naughty places… Back to beer and the festival!
MunichBeerBoy
List of things for Munchen trip: 1 medium carry-on bag, toothbrush & paste, deodorant, three pairs of pants, one set of lederhosen, four drinking shirts, and one Bavarian Hat! I pack lite!!!
MunichBeerBoy
Yeah, you don’t need underwear with lederhosen, do you?
Underwear?? Was ist Das?? I do not even own such things!
MunichBeerBoy
So just four months and we are ready to go!
I am already looking forward to my first mass of oktoberfest beer and a wiesn hendl…..
*Actually, to be exact, in 2 days short of 4 months, I will be in NYC (Manhattan) for a tad over 24 hours, then flying to Berlin (TXL) – then on to Munchen (MUC) ,, arriving the morning of 19.9.11 at about 10:30 hrs… So, we have actually cracked the 4-month barrier. Before we know it, we shall be counting-down under 90 days… As you fellow Veterans know all too well, when that happens, time – she flies by fast! Why? Generally because we have already paid for our flights, transport, and at least a few hotel nights in advance,, but have to save for beer! Those of us poor saps in the USA – thanks to our SPEND-SPEND-SPEND the country into oblivion and bankruptcy nutjob/retards in D.C. – have to save quite a few dollars in order to garner a modest pile of Euro’s for bier und essen!
MunichBeerBoy
Consider working as a beer wench at the Oktoberfest… I heard it pays really well! Like 5000 euros in two weeks….
No way! I would not even consider working 14 hours a day at my hourly rate of $49.50 per hr! I hate manual labor, and try my damndest to work only an average of 34 hours a week, once you factor-in Vacations, Holiday’s, and Personal Days, etc. I get about 6.5 weeks off with pay, and get some nite shifts in each month at an extra 15%.. I know those gals make good money, but they have to bust their cute little butt’s to get it!!!
MunichBeerBoy
Still I think you will look good in a dirndl!
Perhaps in San Francisco… However, I would SCARE the heck outta people in most cities around the globe!
MunichBeerBoy

MunichBeerBoy
What, no chatter about WeisN 2011 in a week??? C’Mon peeps!
Friends: Checkout my second book “Nothing Left But Apple Pie”.. Available on: www.Amazon.com, B&N, Books-A-Million, Borders, PublishAmerica.net, etc. in both E-Book and Paperback formats for $24.95.. For all you fellow Detroiters… I am not at all kind to the nimrods that drove G.M. and much of my beloved birth city into the ground! That is putting it mildly too!
MunichBeerBoy
Kurpflaz changed it’s name again, and they are booked 331 days out- might give hotel wallis a try- that was where we stayed a few years. It’s walking distance to the tents and train.
On a side note, we are getting in on the 20th, and we are spending our first night over in Regensburg. The rest of our 34 drinkers get in on the 21st when we hook up with them and check into our hotel by the hauptbahn and head over to the tents. We have reservations for Thur and Fri, then head over sat to Saltzburg if anyone wants to join us for the day. Then sunday we are at the Ox tent all day.
