There are lots of cheap airline deals from BKK—keep an eye on airfares and take some weekend trips around the region.

I think that Angkor Wat is the coolest place on planet earth.

Myanmar is one of my favorite countries and certainly worth a look if you can get a reasonable block of time together. Two weeks wasn’t enough for me.

Despite everyone whining about how great Vang Vieng (Laos) used to be and how it sucks now, I had a great time there. NO, I didn’t hang out in "Friends" bars and do drugs and whatever, we just enjoyed some fun time tubing on the river and hiking. The scenery is stunning.
