After living in the UK for the past year my boyfriend and me are about to start a 5 month trip! We fly out of Leeds/Bradford airport to Dublin on 28th April and then to Athens on 1st May. From there we have no concrete plans, but the idea is to spend around 10 days in the Greek Islands then make our way to southern Italy and work our way up. We are seeing quite a lot of Italy. We will then go across to Slovenia and Croatia and then up to Czech Republic. This is where it gets a bit hazy for us and we are unsure on the best route to take. After Czech we still want to see: Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Switzerland (Interlaken only), Spain – Barcelona, Madrid, Ibiza, San Sebastian, Granada, Seville), Portugal (Lagos, Lisbon, Porto) and France (Nice and Paris) and back to London by 25th July so we can fly to America and continue our travels there. The only other restriction is we would really like to be in San Sebastian around the time of the running of the bulls in Pamplona. We haven’t bought a rail pass (although we are contemplating it) but we thought we would wing it with point to point buses, trains and flights. We figured this has got to be cheaper than the £800 each that it will cost us for a rail pass for 3 months. After this we travel in the USA/Canada for around 2 months and then back home to Australia via Hawaii! Any feedback on a viable route and any information or ideas that might help us?? I look forward to your replies!
