7 girls traveling!!! Bad idea??
Fri, 07/30/2004 - 17:37
We are 7 17-years old girls traveling through europe.
Do you think its a problem being so many girls? ![]()
Anyone who knows about places we shouldn`t go at all???
Two of us are 17 when we are going, will that be a problem, considering clubs and stuff? Need as many tips as we can get…. We are a little lost… ![]()

My guess is yes, particularly with all that giggling coming from your group.
sorry, but the thought literally made me cringe.
I would seriously reconsider the idea. Maybe split the group in half and plan to meet up at some points. Some problems likely to occure are in a group that big you are bound to have dissagreements about prorities and a lot of time wasted (waiting for eachother, negotiating etc.) and no matterwhat some people aren’t going to get what they want and resentment is bound to develope even if your all "best friends" now.
And from natives of the places you visit…..I can only imagine their attitudes twards a gaggle of teeniebopper Americans (no offense). If you do go that way please at least have one person who has a basic grasp on the language of the counrty your in or you will NOT be popular.
Sorry for assuming your american…..same goes though
Seven people is already an army
Seriously, it is very likely that on some point you’ll find your interests to be quite different. Don’t be afraid to split for a day or even several days – it will be even more interesting to share the experience when you meet up again.
Seven teenage, blonde, blue-eyed, big-titted Norwegian girls traveling together?
Sweet fucking Jesus, I’ll have no problem falling asleep tonight!
Agree with HomeSkillet! I would also say it may be a problem being 17 I know that when I went to Canada with a group of friends the people that were under 18 needed a notarized letter from their parents stating that they had permission to leave the country along with phone #‘s etc. I dont know if thats the same where you are but that was an issue for us. If you cant figure you trip out all of you are welcome to come stay with me!

Quit hitting on them JonDD! It is illegal in Minnesota…at least for another year!
You don’t want to be that old dirty guy hitting on high schoolers like in Dazed & Confused, do you?
Hawki a little jellous?
Its not my fault that I get older and chicks stay the same age!
Possibly on IM tonight. What was your screen name again I know it was hawkifan but there were numbers that I forgot after that. Let me know and I will IM you.
Hawki I should be on later this evening. I have an appointment at 6 but shouldnt take too long and I will be on shortly after that.
Thanks for all the replies, serious, and not so serious… One little question though: how old are you JonDD??
Im 22.
Girls Girls, Girls
I remember when I was 17, nice to act as if you were older but it’s not the right attention that your looking for. Away from your parents and trying to be independent in a differnt country will get you all into trouble. Not saying that your not going to be careful but 7 girls ? All I have to say is watch out and be very careful, you never know what ones expectations just might be.
And you mentioned about going to clubs, don’t think your old enough but again US – 21 and Canada is 19……….I doubt that other countries are any different.
Most of Europe is technically 18 and over for clubs… but it won’t matter cause nobody ever asks for ID. Ever. Trust me.
I was 22 on my first trip around Europe but I look much younger and got asked for ID all the time here in Canada… but in Europe I was never asked once.
Damn…i agree with you homeskillet! Oh yeah- 7 girls would be a fucking nightmare (for them at least).
7 girls….whoa….I love it!This trip is gonna be so much fun! lol
There is no right or wrong number for people travelling, juts do it, don’t be afraid to split up as mentioned if things get a little frayed.
One thing though, never go off on your own.
Enjoy yourself, act responsibly and avoid all those sleazy backpacker guys (like JonDD) and you’ll have a good time.
jboy you shouldnt be talking about sleeze. Although you may fit right in in their group with your baby gap denim jacket!
Do you think that post would come from someone from Norway?
Y’all gonna kill each other.
And an obvious troll, and in the packing forum…
Got JonADD’s attention though!
Hey again!
Thanks for your positive respond jboy, I hope you are right!!!
And dont you worry, we do know how to take care of ourselves…
But just out of couriosity; How many times have you been here at this page JonDD? I mean, you alway manage to defend yourself
Love from all us girls
I will forever be fighting the evils of the forum!
Luv from 7 girls at once! Alright!

He he.. Vedde på han e ein 40år gammale gris
Har du vert ude og reist møye då???
Knus fra heile gjengen
Sorry everyone for writing so much in norwegian guys! Did u get anything??? Didnt write anything about u Jon
Ti hi!! Sure youre not norwegian by the way, saw your name was Jon Domaas. It sounds really norwegian!!! Maybe we are related….. Just kidding
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
Luv from me, Karina…. (Only one this time…)

Two Canadian boys in Glasgow for October…See ya there eh!!!ha
hey norwegiangirl, how far along are you in your plans. my friends and I are planning to do they exact same thing as you next summer after we graduate from high school. we’re not that big of a group though…there’s like 5 of us..and i think 3 of us will be 17.
Hei karz(…?)
Great to hear from someone under 20
We have been talking about backpacking trip for almost a year, but we are not so good at the whole planning part. But we’re going to Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. (Most likly we’ll fly to Nice)
And our latest idea is to stay a few days at Corsica, but I dont know if we will.
So, where are you planning to go? North, West, South or East, or just basically everywhere?
Would love to get an e-mail from you, to hear more about where you guys are going.
Well, my e-mail is here if you want it: karinaims@hotmail.com
7 17-year-old girls, backpacking around Europe for almost one year??? You’re gonna kill each other after one week…
No, but for real, if it’s 7 people, one year is way too much time… you’re gonna want to see places and do stuff the others won’t necessarily want to do… and in the end, if you travel for one year together, it’s more likely gonna end as 7 parallel trips at the same time, each one by their side… Think about it like this: even deciding to get married is hard, because it takes time to get used to live with the other person 24/7… now, if that’s with 2 people, imagin it with 7…
On the other hand, I agree with JonDD… the only thought of seven gorgeous norwegian girls going backpacking around Europe makes me think… damn it, how come this never happened to me in Europe?
Good luck girls, and if you need help, just ask.
I think you missunderstood me, but I dont blame you, wrote my last respond in a hurry …
We have talked about our backpacking trip for a year, but we’re only backpacking for a month next summer!!
And think it’s long enough being as many as we are, going for a year would kill us all, at least our frendship!
Don’t worry girls, you’ll be fine!
I dont think the ID will be a problem, they never ask beautiful girls for id at the risk of losing them
Maybe you have msn??
Dont mind the old perverts here(JonDD and Homeskillet), Im not one of them…
Met some awesome Norwegian girls in Spain this summer, loved them!!
I’d love to meet up with you somewhere next year, are you up for it?? Im going with two friends to Spain and Portugal in July, will you be in the neighbourhood
Love BobbyB
OLD
PERVERT
I am neither than you very much! Norwegiangirl don’t listen to a guy who picked a screen name of one of the biggest perverts on the planet and has MAJOR drug and abuse issues… not to mention being in jail several times. Good screen name looser!
Bobby Brown, what can I say….. Agree with you JonDD, nothing more to say about that matter, although you’ve written some pretty sleezy comments yourself!!!
This thread is actually turning out to be pretty funny.
By now it’s more suitable for the pub but hey, I can come here for a good chuckle.
sleezy? Like what? You can stay with me?
Hence the face! Did I mention I have a 18 brother that would probably like to meet all of you!
Come on Jon, it’s a bit sleezy to invite us all to stay with you, although it’s a tempting offer!! And now you’re trying to hook us up with your brother… (What a nice guy! So generous!)
Anyway,I didnt realise it when I started this thread, but i do know this has absolutely nothing to do with packing;( A little to late to change that now though… Unless you have some great packing tips to give us!!
I have to admit I like this thread though. It’s pretty fun to read what you guys think/know about us Norwegians!!
Karina
Thinking back about the girls I’ve travelled with I’m inclined to say packing might become an issue yet
munching popcorn in the spectators gallery
You sleazy guys crack me up!
You need to change your aftershave Bobby Brown, Norwegian girls don’t like Calvin Klein’s ‘Desperation’ !!
Sleezy!? Me!? I`m a nice guy, really I am! My name is Bobby, but that screen name was taken, so I picked Bobby Brown..
But I really want to meet you! The other guys in here can just admit that they want it too!! If not, there wouldn`t have been over 1000 people reading this thread!
I will wait for you all summer if I have to!
Love BobbyB
I dont knonw whats so great about Norway chicks, I’ve been to oslo and the look just like us.(canadians)
Gjør hvorfor alle Amerikanere fungerer som Jondd?
Excuse me, but 7 girls??? That would be my punishment in hell, to spend all eternity with 7 girls. I even hated female dorms, I find groups of women to be unbearable with all the giggling and stupid talk, and then they tend to be closed groups, not interacting very much with an outsider…
But then again, I’m a tomboy, so I honestly wish you very good luck.
Hi! Sorry, but I dont understand what you mean with the sentence in Norwegian… ( Men prøv igjen!)
Anyway. i guess youre right when you say we look like other girls, why shoudnt we??
And Jester, I dont think being this many girls will stop us form talking to new people, it’s one of the reasons we’re all going! Unsocial people are the worst, and I hope we wont be looked upon as a closed group that doesent want to talk with other people.
Karina
One thing I’ve learnt on my trip through Europe is that European people are different. i don’t know how to explain it. But they are definatly not like American girls of the same age.
For starters they speak 2 languages or more (most of them anyway). They are used to traveling to other countries because they do it all the time with their parents etc. For some reason this makes them differnet and would allow them to travel easier. And when Europeans make friendships they usually tend to be tight, and I think that this Norweigian girl and her friends should be able to work together and compromise to make it a special trip. I’m sure they all realize they might want to do different stuff and sticking together in a large group is probably alot safer for 17yr old girls.
Karina sounds like she already knows how to get into those night clubs. What ever your doing to the other guys in here, do it to the bouncers when your travelling. Clubs can never have to many girls in them.
This post is never going to die.
Thank you schmatt for sharing that information about how European girls are different from American girls ( even though I was talking about canadians) Everyone assumes that Norwegians , Swedes, Finns ect. are all blonde and sexy , but this Norwegian chick could be Ugly as hell for all we Know. Im sure they can speak 2 languages
and im sure they could get into a club, no problem, But it’s pretty sads when 23 year olds or older are hitting on a Girl that is 17.
I don’t believe I said they were blonde and sexy. I was giving them positive feed back. Everyone else seemed to be giving them stick and saying that it’s difficult fot 7 girls to go travelling together. I just wanted to give them encouragement. I’m not going to assume they are ugly either concidering I’ve never seen them in person.
I’m sorry If I gave your reason to think I was hitting on them, concidering that they are quite some distance from me I don’t think it would work out. Unless they want to move to Australia.
Americans/ Canadians same thing right? (I’m joking!)
Australians / British same thing right?
When I was in Perth everyone just blended canadians with americans…
when we are completly different people.
Hey guys!
First of all I’d like thank you schmatt for those words of encouragement! Dont know if I’m such a big fan of all the generalizations about Europeans.
I mean, even though a lot of Scandinavians do have blonde hair and everything, i doesnt man that we all do! On the other hand it doesnt mean I’m ugly as hell either Canuckccp!!!
Dont know what else to say, other that i like reading this thread! It makes me look even more forward to my trip thinking of all the guys we’re going to meet
Not that many of you managed to make such good impression of yourself, but still….
