absynth
Mon, 07/30/2007 - 16:13
I was wondering if it was legal for me to bring back a bottle of Absynth with me to the US. I know its illeagle to buy it here but could i bring it back?
Don’t know about the US, but I brought it back to Canada 2 years ago.
Yes its illegal to bring it into the US. If you insist on spending your money on the stuff, just put it in another bottle that might contain something of the same color, maybe Listerine?
I’d rather lick urinal cakes than drink that shit again, it should be illegal worldwide on bad taste alone
It’s a perfect substitute for a candle when you’re outside in the dark and want some light. Just a little bit burns for hours. Must say enough about the taste. You have to drink it with sugar anyway.
… it’s also a good fuel alternative for the car
It’s disgusting and not worth the hassle (if any) of trying to transport it home. Go for quality liquor.
Don’t waste your effort on it. Taste it and go on.
Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, and end up getting charged double.
It is illegal to bring back and not worth the risk.

Why not purchase a nice Bordeaux or Rioja wine? It’ll be much more enjoyable.

Anyway, it’s not that much of a novelty — you can buy a brand in the states now. And to be honest it’s prolly the same stuff you’ll get in most of Europe minus a trace of wormwood .

horse piss is more enjoyable than absinthe
it’s easier to light absinthe on fire than horse piss, however, so if you’re planning to burn down the barn for insurance money…
My brother brought some back from spain in his suitcase and gave it to me as a gift. For some reason he got the 160 proof absynth which I refuse to drink. Actually, I refuse to drink the stuff regardless of the proof. Of course one night my drunken friends wanted some alcohol so I pulled it out. I warned them that they didn’t want to drink it. I laughed for about 15 minutes after seeing them drink that god awful sin of a drink. My roommate was literally on his hands and knees in the front yard for about a half an hour just yelling AHHHHH at 4am. I am sure he woke the neighbors. I tried to warn them that it was very bad stuff but they wouldn’t listen.

uhhh, is that a guess?
you can get that stuff through mail order or the internet, like russian brides.
