Adriatic Loop 1 month. suggests?
Wed, 04/02/2008 - 14:47
Suggestions? I like the relatively short travels in most cases but other ideas would be welcome. Ive been to Rome, Cinque Terre and Dubrovnik before so I would be open to switching it up a little too if there are some other spots I am missing out on. Rome – 3Siena – 1 (Il Palio)Florence – 2Cinque Terre – 3Interlaken – 3Milan – 2Venice – 1Ljubljana – 3Plitvice – 2Split 3Hvar – 3Undecided Island(s) between Hvar and Dubro – 3Dubrovnik – 2Ferry Dubro – Bari and head back to Rome, fly out from there.

I’ve been to Ljubljana last summer and really liked it. From there, I’d suggest day trips to Bled and Piran, although Bled probably deserves at least a night…
I’m planning myself to spend some time in the balkans this summer, so here’s some thoughts.
Zagreb might be worth some time as it is pretty close to Ljubljana and so probably on your way. If you’re willing to cut dubrovnik (i see you’ve been there), you could spend some time in Bosnia and see Sarajevo and Mostar. I think this could fit in your itinerary if you change it a little bit, let’s say if you do Ljubljana/Zagreb > Sarajevo/Mostar > Split > Islands/Hvar/etc
and then take the ferry from Split to Ancona in Italy
Thats a great idea, i really like the thought of going to places I know nothing about and Sarajevo fits that bill. Bled sounds good too, I havent decided whether it will be 1 or 2 nights there. I forgot there is a ferry from Split across. I was pretty much just planning on going to Dubrovnik again because thats where I would catch the boat, so I can use those days elsewhere.
