I know vague questions are not easily answered, but I’ll be studying abroad in Leipzig, Germany this Spring..with the quarter ending June 11. My brothers are coming to visit me June 9, and after the quarter is over we were going to quickly visit some other European cities.

My dad works for US Airways, so our flights to and from Europe will only cost the tax amount. Wanting a quick (ten days or less), cheap trip that hits Paris and Rome, do you have any recommendations? I say Paris and Rome because both of my brothers are insisting on seeing those spots. I’m not too concerned about where we go, as there are many excursions planned with my class in Leipzig. I’m just trying to keep my otherwise non-travel inclined brothers entertained.

Thanks for the help!

I am leaving from Dayton, OH with $2500 for 17 days
London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Venice, Rome

Going from Leipzig, how about train to Berlin (maybe you can get a good deal with those 5 persons for the price of 1 Happy Weekend ticket – or something like that, as I don’t recall the exact details).

Berlin, 3 nights
Either train (if you can find a cheap price on bahn.de) or EasyJet to Paris
Paris, 3 nights
EasyJet to Rome
Rome 4 nights

There is a direct cheap flight from Leipzig to Paris with Air France.

My last flight home to the States(from Leipzig – I live here..) was with Air France, and for some reason the AF tickets were the cheapest.. So I don’t know, maybe they’re trying to compete with the budget airlines or something..

If you HAVE to visit Paris and Rome(not exactly next door to each other..) and you have limited time, I would just organize a three way flight right off the bat. Leipzig-Paris-Rome-Leipzig…

Both of those cities require at least three days to themselves just to see the basics, so I’d say don’t mess around and just fly it.

Prague BTW is a 3 1/2 hour train-ride.. And a nice one too – along the Elbe up to the German/Czech border is really nice…
