Hi everyone,
I am studying abroad in Paris for 6 1/2 weeks. Afterwards I have 18 days of travel as I fly out of Rome on July 13th. I was wondering if anyone would mind looking over my itinerary and
a) tell me if it seems too rushed
b) should I cut out Montpellier and spread my time somewhere else? If so where?

I’m hoping to finalize this itinerary and start making reservations… Also, should I make all of my hostel/train reservations before I leave the country?
Any suggustions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and by the ways I am a 21 year old college student from the United States.
Thanks!

I’ve seen worse posted here, but you may indeed want to leave out Montpellier since your itinerary includes a non-existent day – June 31st  [image]http://www.eurotrip.com/forum/image/s2.gif[/image]

HAha that’s a new one []

For the itinerary though, I’d take a day from  Florence and give it to Rome.

I am traveling for 51 days
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens

I’d keep the day in Florence but use it to visit Siena or Lucca.

Monaco isn’t  worth a full day.

I wouldn’t book/reserve trains before leaving the States. You’ll have plenty of time in Paris to organise the overnight trains. Depending on where you’re staying in Venice, I’d consider booking. Leave the rest till you’re there.

Hether,

I’m not too crazy about your itinerary.

Here’s my revision:

  • Paris to Barcelona
  • Barcelona, 2-3 days (possible daytip to Tarragona or Altafulla)
  • Nîmes, Arles, Aix-en-Povence, or Avignon, 2 days (stay in one town, and visit 1 or 2 of the others as daytip)
  • Cannes, Nice, or Antibes, 2-3 days (stay in one, visit any of the others as daytip, including Grasse, Menton, Eze, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Fréjus)
  • Venice, 1-2 days
  • Florence, 2-4 days (including daytrip to Siena, Lucca, San Gimignano, etc, or possible ovenight trip to a Cinque Terre town)
  • Rome, 2 days
