A buddy of mine and I are planning a Eurotrip in late may, early june 2009. We will both be turning 18 in August though. Although we are both very independent and i guess mature, I am wondering if we will get any trouble for that fact. Clubs?, Drinking?, travel? just wondering how that might play out. Any advise? We a planing on going to paris, amsterdam, brugge (or somewhere in Belgium, maybe brussles) copenhagen, Berlin?, Munich, Zurich, then meeting some friends in Geneva.
I am leaving from San Diego with $2660 for 18 days

Will you get in trouble because you’re independent and mature? Probably not — how is that negative?
Drinking age in Denmark: 16
The majority of European country’s have a drinking age of 18, Some have it as low as 16 or less, Although Don is correct about the drinking age in Denmark, the purchase age is 18.
European pubs tend to be less strict than most in the state’s. But still a law is a law, it will just depend on the individual premises or area’s view on how they in force it.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
Because of the problem on “parent abduction” there are special requirements for minors who aren’t traveling with both parents. These generally only apply if you’re under 16, but for my son’s school trip they required notarized permission to leave the country from both parents for every student under 18. Check the state department website http://travel.state…. for any special requirements. It’s a good idea to check with the airline you’re flying, too — they may not let you board the plane without signed and notarized parental permission.
Thanks! That helps alot.

Oh sorry Don, I meant the fact that we are 17.
