Air Berlin Aug One Way to NYC: $450
Mon, 02/28/2011 - 17:17
FYI: Air Berlin seems to have some good one way prices as of late. I just booked a flight for Sept 3rd (same price for Aug 31st, as well) from Berlin to New York for $450 flat including taxes.
I am leaving from New York, NY and traveling for 64 days
Reykjavik, London, Lille, Berlin, Kraków, Lviv, Istanbul, Selçuk, Pamukkale, Kızkalesi, Göreme, Kars, Bat'umi, Akhalts'ikhe, Tbilisi, Telavi, Istanbul

Thanks for posting!
That’s a good fare mim. Just for kicks and giggle, I ran ITA and spotted these end-of-summer one-ways back to the US. Outbound window mid-Aug + 30 days:
$337 Berlin – Miami a few dates, Air Berlin
$252 Keflavik – Dulles, Icelandair
$392 Gatwick – Toronto, Air Transat
Just a word to those thinking of traveling on one-way tickets: To enter Europe, you need to have proof of onward travel. Google “Schengen” and see our “nifty visa checking tool” pinned at top of this forum.
Great fares. The trick is getting a good price to Europe in early summer.
(or US -> India -> Europe in my case…)

If you haven’t already booked, I see NYC >
DUS $320 Air Berlin
BER $374 Air Berlin
This also found with ITA set mid-May+ 30 days.
I don’t think Iceland Express show up there, and you might do better direct with IcelandExpress.com. A quick check found, for example, $323 one-way to Copenhagen (Newark>Keflavik>CPH) late May. Or, $238 to London. Wow!
Also, I’m surprised the XL fares on JFK-PAR didn’t pop up. So I checked XL.com, and they’re wide open at 338 Euros one-way tax and fees included from May 22 onward. By the way, only $347 total (one-way) if booked through consolidator Flights.com.
Flights.com also turned up $432 total one-way JFK-FRA on the revered Singapore Airlines (nonstop, in case anyone is wondering) as long as outbound from NYC by May 22.
Madrid low $400s Air Europa.
XL had New York to Paris at $796 all-in for early July, return mid-July.
For May and early to mid-June, XL shows $565.
These are some great fares. The calm before the storm?
