Hi,

This will be my first time traveling around Europe in the summer and because I am proud of where I come from, I wondered if there would be any repercussions if I sewed an American flag on my pack. I read that many Canadians do it to differentiate themselves from Americans, which is fine by me, but I’d like to do it as a way of expressing pride in my country. I was even thinking about bringing lapel pins of the American Flag to give to little children that I run into on the streets of Europe as well as giving them to other fellow backpackers as a goodwill gesture. I realize that due to the current sitation, I may be targeted as an American, but I’m a pretty strong guy and am confident I can handle myself in any situation. Your thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am leaving from Chicago, IL with $2000 for 17 days
