Amsterdam and Brlin in 10 days, please help!!
Tue, 01/06/2009 - 07:45
So i am going to europe in 10 days! so stoked, il be there from the 17th to th 22nd(flying out th morning of the 22nd) Initially it was going to be only amsterdam but i want to go to berlin too since i am in the region. The plan is to take a train to berlin on th 18th and back to amsterdam on the 20th. is that enough time and is it worth spending a 100 euros on the train ride? My intentions in berlin is to drink, have fun and just a little sightseeing. What would you guys suggest? or should I just hang out in amsterdam for 5 days? also is munich closer than berlin? what else can i do if i decide not to go to berlin to make the most out of my trip. PLease advise!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!
Popular Berlin neighborhood for drinks/cafes/etc is Friedrichshain.
Berlin is well worth visiting—there is a lot to see and do.
Amsterdam-Berlin is over 6 hours each way, so that will really cut into your time in Berlin. You could do an overnight train one way to save time. You could even overnight both ways. I don’t recommend two overnight trains in such a short time frame, but I’ve done similar “overnight train, 2 or 3 days somewhere, overnight train” trips. You can always sleep after you get home……
It looks like you might be able to buy a 78 euro R/T for your dates: http://reiseauskunft…
thanks, so u guys think that it will be worth going to berlin in this short time, what is the most popular neighborhood with bars etc, touristy but local at the same time, also i am going alone will it be alright safe?
also what other good options do i have besides berlin? thanks!
hamburg is alot closer and a friend(german native) says that is his favorite city…there’s also frankfurt thats closer too…
