So, I’ve finally decided on my travel itinerary. I will be flying to Amsterdam from Copenhagen on the night of 3/29. Then, I plan to leave for Paris on 4/2 and London on the night of 4/4. My question is, what kind of transportation pass should I use? Also, what would be the best way to get from the Amsterdam airport to a hostel?

Thanks!

I am leaving from Copenhagen, Denmark with $450 for 9 days

I don’t think you need a pass. Try your itinerary with Railsaver, but also check ns.nl and eurostar.com for any specials that might be on.

Nice find on the Norwegian.no CPH>AMS flight departing 19:30 March 29 for only $41 USD.

Re: Ams. Centraal > Paris Nord train … NS’s international booking site shows afternoon on Thalys trains for only 62 EUR (under 26 youth price) for this 3 hr, 19 min ride—with no changes. I think that’s pretty good.

I also tried Thalys.com thinking they might have a better offer, but it actually goes to NS’s English international ticket booking site—which I already linked for you above.

Re: Paris Nord > London St. Pancras … Eurostar shows $96 youth (under 26) for evening of Apr 4 for this 2 hr, 16 min trip. Cheapest flight that evening that I see looks about $97 (Easyjet) but will take longer—and possibly cost a little more—when you consider the airport transfer(s).

I agree that a railpass probably won’t pay since the only ride it covers would be the Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris. As Don suggests, the Dutch national rail website is one place to look for that one. I’d also try www.thalys.com

There is train service from Schipol airport to Amsterdam every 6 or 7 minutes. Most hostels will be near or easy to get to from Centraale station.
