AMSTERDAM/CHRISTMAS/SNOWBOARDING 2012
Thu, 09/22/2011 - 16:55
My best friend and I are planning a “End-of-the-World” trip to Europe next December. We plan to visit Amsterdam for sure, and want to have an awesome European Christmas, which probably will include snowboarding for hours upon hours. We have two to three weeks, from about December 8 2012. We want suggestions on places to visit that would fit into our schedule. I have checked out some ski resorts, but have no idea where to go for good snowboarding. We love the outdoors, beer, music, and having a great time. Any suggestions for hostels, places to visit, things to see would be great!
Thanks,
MEGAN
I have budgeted $2500 for 25 days

I’ve heard good things about Chamonix.
Morzine is another place in France that is supposed to be the Vail of that country (developed in the ’60’s). I think the main resort itself is small, but there is access to Avoriaz, not far from Geneva.
Since it’s your “end of the world trip,” you may not be worried about cost. If you are, I think you will find ski resorts (lodging and lift tickets) significantly cheaper in Austria than in France or Switzerland. The High Tatras in Slovakia and Poland will be cheaper still, but a bit more complicated to get to.
Well, I don’t think the world is going to end, but just in case…haha
Budget is $2000 (not including airfare)
In addition to suggestions of the BEST places to snowboard, also good Christmas sites. We will for sure be in the Netherlands, probably Germany, maybe Austria or Czech Republic. We are trying to get a head start on planning so we can buy tickets early next year.
