Anyone know if this offer is legit?
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 05:31
Hi! I saw this article in the L.A. Times travel blog:
It says that we (US citizens) can book hostels in Europe and pay the euro price in US dollars at a rate of 1 for 1. A very appealing offer. However I made a booking and they still charged my credit card the full amount! I emailed them and they haven’t got back to me! I read on this site that they are supposed to be the ones with friendly and helpful customer service! I’d hate to see what the bad customer service is like!
Has anyone actually been to a hostel using this offer yet?

Which hostel did you book, how many nights, and what were you charged?
Is that the deposit, or a full amount?
I don’t know about that offer, but a number of hotels in Europe began doing that this past summer.
Hi Traveler! thanks for the help, it was just the deposit. And thanks augustin25 for the help.
I have actually heard back from hostelsclub.com and as I read on this forum, they were very helpful and friendly!
It turns out I misread their info. They charged me the normal deposit for the price in euros and I get the discount as long as I show my US passport and booking confirmation at the hostel, then all I have to pay is the euros total in US dollars less the deposit I already paid
So does anyone have any good recommendations for some cheap fun in Berlin?
Oups… Slow internet caused a double post… I’m still new to blogging… Thanks everyone for your help!
