Aracaju, Brazil
Sat, 04/08/2006 - 16:37
Hi everyone,
A few friends and I are planning to go to Aracaju, Brazil next Oct/Nov. We know a couple who has condo there and they are letting us stay there for free, pretty much the only reason we can even think of going. I have a few of questions:
1. Has anyone ever been there and can tell me what the city has to offer visitors (I know the beaches are fabulous!)?
2. Where could we go for day trips? Or for a few days if it is a reasonable distance by bus…
3. We were planning on going to Manaus to visit the Amazon region, but looking online it seems that flight prices are really expensive…at least $700 CDN. Is this really the case? If so, we would have to nix that idea. I know that it is a long distance and more remote, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it is that expensive all the time.
Unfortunately I am ignorant when it comes to travel outside of NA/Europe.
Thanks,
Heather
You can read the thread that I have going on South America. I wasn’t aware that flights were that expensive either, but sadly it’s true. The bus is really the only method of travel in S.A., and they can take a long time, since most of the places in S.A. are very far apart.
Hi Nivid,
I did look at the thread on SA, but want more specific information about the actual region we are going to – hence decided to post. Too bad flights are so expensive, but c’est la vie. I can think of worse things than hanging out on the beach for a few weeks!
