athens to dubrovnik
Sun, 06/12/2011 - 22:29
I am wondering what the best way to get from Athens to Dubrovnik is? There is not any where in between the two cities I am really wanting to go to but am open to suggestions. Flight, bus or train? Thanks in advance for you advice
I am leaving from vancouver, bc with $8000 for 54 days
Paris, Pamplona, Barcelona, Nice, Interlaken, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Mýkonos, Íos, Athens, Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Salzburg, Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Český Krumlov, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam

I’d look for a cheap flight. Use www.whichbudget.com to see which low fare airlines fly which routes and see our “cheap flights” forum for more help.
2nd choice would be overnight ferry from Greece to Italy, then another overnight ferry from Italy to Croatia.
There is no rail sevice south of Split in Croatia. By train, Athens to Dubrovnik involves connections in Thessaloniki, Beograde, Zagreb, Split, then bus or ferry to Dubrovnik.
First thing that comes to mind is Croatia Airlines purchased as one-way flight pass from Europebyair.com $99+tax if I recall. Checking this out for you… looks like they still show this route on their map, but doesn’t come up in their $99 pass program anymore. You could contact them about that to find out if they still have it, or if it is no longer part of their flight pass program.
