We want to travel from Athens in Greece up to Serbia, Montenegro & possibly Croatia. We have 10 days & are fine to travel long journeys by train. We want to stop off in countries on the way & enjoy the experience. Will transport be ok for us to do this trip? What is the best way to do

Travel times are slow and there aren’t a lot of options but you should be able to do this by train and bus. Check train schedules for anywhere in Europe on the German national rail company website: http://reiseauskunft… www.eurolines.com will show at least some of the bus schedules. I would plan on buying point to point tickets at the train or bus station as opposed to using a railpass.

Greece has stopped all of its cross-border passenger rail service in early 2011. Wonder if there are buses, at least to Bulgaria, from which there is a train to Belgrade.

If you have any questions about Prague or Czech and Slovak republics, ask me.
If you only want to search train or bus connection within Czech&Slovakia and/or to neighboring countries, use www.cp.sk or www.idos.cz search engines. For domestic transport, they also show prices.
