So I’m venturing out into the unknown! and im going to be heading to amsterdam as my first stop. What are the must sees in amsterdam, brussels and bruges?
So far in amsterdam we are going to see: Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Vondelpark
(Daytime), Damrak Square, Heineken brewery tour, Verzetsmuseum, Sex Museum, Cannibus college. And ofcourse some coffeeshops and clubs! Are we going to be able to do this in 3 days? and what else should we add?
We goto bruges/brussels next and we have 3 days between the two. Any recomendations

While in Bruges, you must go on a tour of Flanders Fields, especially being Canadian! Make sure you go to Bruges first, that way if you fall in love (as I did), you can opt to skip Brussels. I only went to Brussels as a day trip, but found it a typical European city – not horrible, just not terribly exciting. Did I mention I LOVE Bruges? I’ve been there 3 times. Ypres is worth a day trip too.
Okay, here’s the company I went on a tour with. Actually I’ve done all three of their bus tours on my various visits. I liked how they ran things. It’s been a few years, however, so I can’t vouch for how things are now. http://www.quasimodo… I did a bike tour with them too on my last visit. It repeated a lot of the information you get on the bus tour Triple Treat.
Have a Belgian beer for me.
I’d second the trip to Flanders Fields. I’d recommend the company (guy) i went with. Daytours. A one man operation. Just a history buff (Nathan) and his van. Seats 8 people total. Saw stuff the bigger tour buses won’t see. My trip was out of Bruges. Ypres was part of this tour. Not worth a day trip IMHO itself. Skip Brussels. Waste of time. As exciting as Brampton. Bruges is an awesome town.

Biking. I hope you get to enjoy travelling around Amsterdam and maybe even Bruges by bicycle. There is really no faster way to get around as a tourist except maybe by taxi.
Vondelpark. sure……….not lots there……….it’s a park. Same feeling about Damrak square. blah. Several of the bike companies have tours by bike. I went with Mike’s Bike tour. they were ok. getting to see the surrounding countryside on the outskirts of AMS by bike was fun. I think your 3 days is plenty.
My Mike’s bike tour guide recommended seeing the Van Gogh museum after getting high – apparently flowers flying out of the paintings right at you. I didn’t get to experience this but maybe after some magic fungi you can do it and if you remember, post your experience here. happy travels
