I am planning to visit Australia early November and was considering a visit to either Surfers Paradise or Byron Bay. I know there is a lot of surfing there, which I don’t want to do, but I do want to swim in the ocean. Is it a good idea if you are not a strong swimmer? How big are the waves? I know this sounds stupid but I’ve never been anyplace where there is surfing- the only ocean I’ve actually swam in is the Mediterranean. On a sidenote, if anyone has visited these two places, what are your impressions?
