Hi to all, this is actually my first post on this site!

So I’m going backpacking in Europe for one month this summer and I’m looking for a bag somewhere in the 70L range that would have a specified laptop pocket. I’m not looking to break the bank, something in the 150$-200$ range is the farthest I’ll go.

I’ve been looking at the REI Grand Tour Travel Pack, even without the laptop pocket it’s a pretty interesting bag.

So preferably with a dedicated laptop pocket, what are the main choices for me? Or the best bags in that range overall, forgetting the laptop pocket.

Anyway thanks for the help!!!

I am traveling for 36 days
Paris, Amsterdam, Bayeux, Perpignan, Barcelona, Montpellier, Marseilles, Cannes, Monaco, Rome, Turin, Geneva, Morzine, Paris
Requesting help with Transport, Hostels, Budget, Itinerary, Sights

I would look at Eagle Creek. It will be at the top end of your price range, but they have lots of interesting packs designed for laptops. Eagle Creek stuff is absolutely indestructible. My Eagle Creek briefcase/backpack has been used (and seriously abused) daily for well over a decade and still looks brand new.

Another option would be to get a protective sleeve for your laptop and go with the REI pack you like.

I doubt you’ll find a pack that large with a laptop pocket. I’m a serious backpack junkie and can’t recall seeing a pack beyond the size of a daypack that has a laptop pocket. That said, I hope you find one Smile The REI Grand Tour does indeed look like a nice pack.

I saw some “Swiss gear” packs today that were specifically laptop designed and “bigger than a day pack” although they wouldn’t be big enough for most travelers. If you were a really light packer they might work…
