I have been to London, Paris and Rome before, but for this trip my friend and I are backpacking. Are there some places that we need to hit? We don’t want too many touristy places…

I am leaving from Calgary, Alberta with $7000 for 49 days
Florence, Nice, Assisi, Rome, Vatican, Athens, Archaía Olympía, Venice, Amsterdam

This si a difficult question to answer. Maybe we can help if you answer some questions:

1. What are you interested in”?
2. For how long are you going?
3. Have you thought of any cities your really want to go to?
4. What are your priorities – sightseeing, partying, food, culture?

I am leaving from New York, NY and traveling for 64 days
Reykjavik, London, Lille, Berlin, Kraków, Lviv, Istanbul, Selçuk, Pamukkale, Kızkalesi, Göreme, Kars, Bat'umi, Akhalts'ikhe, Tbilisi, Telavi, Istanbul

We’re planning on going from April 20-June 10 roughly. We want to definitely hit Athens, Amsterdam, Florence, Assisi and then some other places in Greece, Germany, Italy And England. More so sightseeing and experiencing Europe, some partying but it’s not the priority.

Why don’t you add all of those cities to your trip planner and take a look at the layout.

In Greece – take a look at a few islands as well as Athens – Corfu and Mykanos come to mind. You can take a ferry to Italy from Greece and hit up Florence, Rome, Venice as well as Assisi and Siena. From Italy, you can move up through Germany (munich, berlin) and make your way to England by air.

Map it out and see how it looks.

I’d plan on 3 weeks for Greece and Italy. Athens, perhaps a day trip or two, a couple of islands, travel time to/from islands and a day each way getting to/from Greece means at least a week and a half. Add some time in Cinque Terre and Venice to Florence and Assisi and you’ve got a full week or more in Italy.
