I am traveling to Ireland for a semester and then I plan to travel Europe for about two weeks, I am trying to decided what type of backpack to take and how big it should be. Suggestions?

Moved to &quotacking" due to content. -mim

For a two week trip, you wouldn’t need to pack much. Backpacks are all about personal preference, but the key is, no matter how long or short your trip is, is to pack light.
Look at the packing threads on this site to get an idea of what you would need to pack, you can do laundry along the way.

Go to REI, or some camping store and try on several and find one thats comfortable.

I have a Gregory, which is 3500cu in, and it was fine on trips ranging from 2 weeks to 7 weeks. Anything bigger than 3500 cu. in. is too big and too heavy.

My pack I brought to Ireland fit about 3 days supplies.Plus I wore the 4ths days! It has a detatchable day pack, that I carried everywhere when my main pack was at the Hostel or B&B. I think it is around 3000cu

The REI suggestion is the best one. Go LOOK and TRY…then buy it online!
