Beaches In France
Mon, 04/30/2007 - 22:41
Hello everyone,
What beaches in France are worth while visting, I was planning on going to Omaha and colliville-sur-mar. If anyone has been hear please describe your experience
Thanks
Massimo

Well, the country has plenty of coastline, and plenty of beach. Any specific reason why you’ve singled out the Normandy region? Are you particularly interested in that region? Or are you just looking for any beach in France?

I enjoyed Antibes on the Riviera (Cote d’Azur.)
I really loved what they call the Vermilion coast, southeast France, near the Spanish border: Collioure is lovely.
The coastline that I have never been to, and am interested in, is the southwestern part of France: the dunes, the pine forests, the low country of Poitou and Aquitaine. I am not sure about the actual quality of the beaches.
The history and the culture appeal to me.
I assume your interest in WWII history and not swimming? I don’t recall seeing anybody swimming or sunbathing at either of the beaches you mention, but both were great experiences for history. The English channel is pretty cold for traditional “beach stuff.”
