Has anyone done any tours or gone to the d-day beaches in France? My girlfriend and I will be in Paris for a few days in late September, and being a history student, I would really like to check it out.

Can you do day trips from Paris?
…or is it better to stay near the beaches. from what i’ve seen, just looking briefly, there aren’t many options for staying near the beaches since most of the towns are small. maybe i’m wrong though?
