I’ll be in Europe from 25 November to 7 December. I’d like to bookend the trip with Berlin (probably at least 25 November to 28 Novmember and 2 or 3 December to 7 December). I figure Berlin and Hamburg will be more fun on weekends than the smaller cities.

In between I’d like to make a side trip somewhere else. Vilnius is probably one of my first choices, but the reasonably priced flights I need only allow for 1 full day or much, much longer as an alternative.

Warsaw and Krakow might not be bad choices, but I’m not sure about them. I don’t think Warsaw sounds all that attractive, and although Krakow does, it also sounds quite small.

There is a flight from Berlin to Riga on 28 November, a flight to Vilnius on 30 November and back to Berlin from Vilnius on 2 December. This sounds good but not really enough time in Vilnius (or is it?).

My original plan was just to start in Berlin for 6 or 7 nights and move on to Prague for the rest of the trip. Is that a better idea? I have to admit I had ancestors in Poland and Lithuania, so I’d love to see them, but I don’t want the trip to be a disappointment or too rushed.

Any suggestions guys?
