Best City in Germany
Wed, 06/01/2005 - 15:12
Taking a little trip in June and would like to pin down a city in Germany to go to.
Can anyone give me some advice. What’s your fave Germany city??
If you’re only going to one city in Germany, make it Berlin. It’s really on another level in history, culture, and things to do.
I agree. Berlin is not just my favourite city in Germany, but in all of Europe.
Best in Germany???
1. BERLIN
2. MUNCHEN
3. REGENSBURG
MunichBeerBoy
I think I should explain my reasons behind this topic.
I was in Amsterdam last weekend and went to a coffee shop called Smokeys. I met two gorgeous German girls who were getting stoned and one of them was really checking me out (I’m modest so you can trust me on this)….However my 7 stoned mates kind of put them off and one of them was completely monged out on a bong and quite paranoid.
I stumbled out in a second hand high and didn’t get their e-mail etc. Stuck with me ever since. Really enjoyed using my A-Level German and talking to some really friendly girls.
Was originally going to do Stockholm, but I’m guessing Berlin or Munich will be cheaper??
What does that post even mean? I must not speak proper English to understand what you are trying to say.
Translation:
Got stoned, met hot girl, fell for her.
She’s german, she’s a girl thus all german girls are hot.
I don’t care about my original summer plans anymore I want to do hot german girls instead
Berlin. Hands down
Walter, I didn’t know you were fluent in Stoneish.
He’s from Amsterdam. What did you expect?
I myself am fluent in several dialects of Drunkenese.
Have had years of practise in both Stoneish (came with the territory) and Drunkenese (have had your job + others in and around bars).
I have to admit though, as I learned Stoneish relatively early in life I expected that =Drunkenese would be a breeze.
Imagine my surprise when I realised that, although they seem to be related, the differences between them were substantial enough for me to actually have to make an effort at first.
I’m glad I did it though as it was a wonderful foundation to learn several dialects like Irish Drunkenese (can understand it but can’t speak it yet), Scottish Drunkenese (this one is tough and I would have to say I’m only at an intermediate level), several forms of British Drunkenese (can even speak it relatively well but I have to make an effort) and also several of the American Drunkenese dialects (those seem to come easy to me).
I’m currently trying to pick up French Drunkenese as well but that’s proving to be a lot harder than I expected allthough it does seem to be easier than ‘regular’ french
I’m also fluent in Russian and Polish Drunkenese – much easier than Russian or Polish Soberese
That was one of the best translations I’ve ever read, wa1ter.
Yes, yes, I know it was stupid. So I’m going to Stockholm now instead which was the original plan as the summer seems to be the best time to go.
Thanks for the confirmation about Berlin though as I’m defo going at some point.
The toughest one I’ve ever encountered is Newfie Drunkanese. Get a hang of that and the rest will follow.
Israeli Stoneish is also interesting.
Don’t worry, we have probably all been there at one time or another.
Besides, there are hot girls in Stockholm as well
Have fun.
Ps, Berlin is probably one of favourite city in Germany. I’m sure you’ll have a good time there as well.
How is HAmburg?
I am in Berlin now, but very few girls speak English well. So I think I’ll try out somewhere more ‘westernized’.
A lot of Germans say Hamburg is a much better place to live than Berlin. What do you guys think?
Including Manchester? We used to have a guy from there come in and get loaded pretty much every day. He sounded like a marble salesman with a mouthful of samples.
NJ Spanglish Drunkenese isn’t too easy to get through either.
There’s one guy who’s from a small town about 20K outside of Glasgow that I can’t understand though. Not even when I’m drunk myself.
