Best Pizza in Naples
Sat, 07/24/2004 - 13:13
Any recommendations?
I’ve heard the top three are:
1. Gino Sorbillo
2. Pizzeria Di Matteo
3. Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Try all of them!
I can’t remember the names of any pizza joints I ate at, but one family run place had some pretty wicked house wine!
We had a fabuluos dinner on Piazza Nuovo in Naples. Definitely not the best pizza I had in my life but it was after the entire day walking everywhere around the shabby streets and breathtaking atmosphere of Gessu Nuovo cathedral. It really matters not only where you eat but how was your day in general.
Some great pizza can be found at Da Michele (located at Via Sersale 1 (off Corso Umberto)(walking distance from Centrale)). Tel: 081-5539204. EVERYBODY knows where it is. Most pizzerias in Naples are better than anywhere else
It has always been best for me in small towns, where they fire up the oven with wood and use local cheese, meat and vegis. It sure is different than anything i had at regular restuarants in large cities in Italy.
