Best places for drinking and Having fun??
Thu, 01/06/2005 - 17:48
In the summer, i’m headed towards london, belgium, netherlands, germany, and poland.
What and where is the best place to drink and have a good time in any of these places???
(keep in mind i’m 18 and the places need to be within walkin distance to a train station. It’s okay if its an hour walk, just let me know beforehand so i can get smashed and make the walk to it an adventure!)

I’m assuming you’ll go to Brussels in Belguim. If that’s the case there is an area near the train station (10-15 min. walk at the most) with a lot of cool places. Just walk towards the Grande Place and conutine through it. All of the clubs sort of encircle an opera house or courthouse (I’m not actually sure what it is). There is a GREAT Irish Pub called O’Rileys, when I went it was absoultey packed but everyone was really nice and it didn’t take too long to get a drink. There are a lot of other clubs that are in the same area that range from ultra-cool to simple dive bars.
In Amsterdam everywhere you go is a party. All of the clubs that I went to were great. We stayed in a hotel near Liendsplein (just ask where the Holland Casino, Hard Rock cafe, or origional Bulldog Coffee Shop) there are a lot of clubs in this area that are all a lot of fun as well. My friend went out with out me one night to a place called Jimmy Woo. He said it was difficult to get into but that it was the most amazing place he’s ever been in his life so, if you can find it, it’s worth a shot!
In Leuven, Belgium plan to drink (this is the hometown of the beer known as Stella Artois). Visit Leuven’s Oude Markt (Old Market Place) for more than 20 bars/pubs within 100 yards or so. This is sometimes referred to the largest bar in Europe.
Lots of places in germany have great German beer. Even small towns have their own breweries.
Nice info, cant wait to check out Belgium now, wasnt planning on it but after reading this post looks like we will have to check out those pubs, and hopefully the Jimmy Woo…
Any other great bars in Switzerland?Sweden?Denmark?
IF anyone knows any, sure they want be hard to find, but always helps to know the name of the place first

ahh any place can be good, just up to u to make it good.
that what we plan on doing.
Germany is uber fun. Berlin is my favorite but I’m sure you would like Hamburg. They have some cool barfilled neighborhoods and the (in)famouse Reeperbahn with Excellent public transportation!
Dude, I know a party is what you make it, but why would you go all the way to the Netherlands only to hang out in a Hard Rock Cafe??
You can grab a beer in a non-corporate giant bar and it will taste just as good, if not better because when you come out you will have done something that you couldn’t have done in Rhode Island….but the bulldog was fun
