Black Sheep - The best sangria ever
City: Barcelona, Spain
Address & Details:
Carrer De Les Sitges 5 , Barcelona, 08001, Spain – How to get there: One street over from the Ramblas. It runs parallel to the Ramblas. Coming from P. Catalunya take your first right at Tallers then your first left on de les Sitges. It is there on your right.
The Black Sheep bar is a great place to meet up with a large group of friends or to make a large group of new friends. It is a beer hall styled in a traditional Catalan manner. It has been around for decades close to the Rambla and Plaza Cataluya. It has huge wood tables that seat no less than ten people – most of the time many more sharing each others lap. It has exposed stone walls and large wood supports so you feel you are in a barn or old farm house. The have several dartboards, foosball and pool tables throughout the bar to give you an excuse to get to know the locals. Take turns buying each other pitchers of beer or Sangria that cost only 7.00€ or 8.00€.
Jump in line at the back bar to grab a drink for yourself and maybe pick up a T-shirt for your friends back home. Join in with the next table singing local Catalan songs – or at least try! – and get some inside information on where to go the next day. The crowd is a little younger but it is a beer hall so you should expect this kind of atmosphere. It is a good starting point for your night but you may find yourself there for hours once the laughter starts.
