Broadcasting/media jobs in Norway?
Sun, 06/18/2006 - 08:30
Anybody know of a good reference for Norwegian broadcasting and media jobs? I speak fairly decent norsk, but would like to find something where my English is plus too.

There are 3 main telly broadcasters in Norway —
NRK — the national channel(s) NRK1 and NRK2 supported through TV tax paid by TV set owners.
TV2 — Norway’s first private, ad supported channel based in Bergen. They recently launched a satellite and digital service called TV2Zebra with additional programming.
TV Norge — also ad supported
Regional affiliates of NRK produce localised newscasts. NKR has a lot of Norwegian-produced programming. Additionally, their radio network is heard throughout Norway.
Cable provider Canal Digital have a Norwegian language channel (Channel 3 NO). Most of the content seems (to me) to be produced by individual production companies. I don’t recall anything that seemed like original progagramming when I had Canal Digital. Oslo is the place to find these smaller production companies.
Be warned that although you might speak Norwegian, regional dialect and accents will reveal you as an "outsider" except on nationally-seen programming.
You will need a job offer if your intent is to move to Norway for work. Details about all that type stuff at www.udi.no
