Budget transportation to Nordkapp from Oslo
Mon, 02/06/2012 - 00:12
Hi,
I’m planning to travel to Oslo, Norway in June. During my time in Norway, i want to travel to Nordkapp which located at the northern part of Norway.
What is the best way to travel to Nordkapp? and what is the price range?
Thanks
Zaidi

Good luck! Don, who moderates the “cheap flights” forum is our resident expert on Norway. If he doesn’t see this in a day or so, repost this on cheap flights.
Here’s all I could find for starters.
http://www.nordkapp….
It’s quite a distance, across rugged terrain, so flights are probably best. Norwegian airline Wideroe can get you there. http://wideroe.no/?l…
As an alternative, you might want train from Oslo to Trondheim or Bodo, then take Wideroe rest of the way. http://www.nsb.no/?l… I see some “minipris” offers for 199 NOK one-way, for example; but it’s 17 hours on a train (yikes!). From Bodo, you’ve still got quite a ways to go, with Wideroe for example.
If you’re going to be in Sweden or Finland, look for options from there. It’s significantly faster and easier (overnight train ) to get to Bodo or Narvik by train from Stockholm than it is from Oslo. From the Swedish national rail website: http://www.sj.se/sj/…
Thanks for the help. I will try work out on the information given
