Buffalo to Rome next March
Wed, 04/28/2010 - 21:33
I am looking for a cheap fare to Europe for next March for a cheap getaway from our cold winter.
I’m seeing a fare of $719 from Buffalo to Rome. I think this is amazing, but don’t really know much about the trends.
Should I book this? I think it’s fantastic. Is it really? Or am I likely to get this fare later?
That’s a good price for that route in March, considering the general overall rise in airfares this year, and the rising cost of fuel. (In previous winters, BUF-ROM might have gone on sale for maybe $550).
However, there are warmer places than Rome in March. If you want a good likelihood of warmish spring-time weather, then it could be a fantastic choice. But for warm to hot sun in March … I think you need to head further south. If you’re set on Rome, then try late March as opposed to early March.
Btw, 1800flyeurope shows midweek March prices $680 total.
Don , thank you so much.
I am not familiar with 1800flyeurope, so I’m very happy to hear about it.
Here is what I am planning. I want to escape a month of winter, so would like to go away for the whole month of May. I’ve been told I can easily rent a small apartment in the south of Italy for $1,000 a month because it’s off season. I’m on a tight budget, so know I can’t afford, hot climate, only warm!
When I saw this flight, I thought it was a real deal but from what you are saying about previous flight costs, perhaps I’ll hold off til I research my accommodations. I was ready to jump at the air fare.
Where further south would you recommend, that would be a bargain? I’m not set on Rome, only on my budget.
I was thinking Caribbean.
Ahhh if only I could afford it!!
I don’t think there’s that much difference in price, when all is considered.
I know I can get good deals for a week or two to Cuba or Dominican, but do you really think I could get accomodations for $1000 for the whole month?
And I’m not finding anything in Italy… so perhaps Spain.
