I’m 20 years old and me and my 18 year old brother are thinking about taking a couple of months and going to europe next summer. He has a friend that lives in Berlin Germany so we were thinking about going there first and spending a couple days to a week there then traveling to some other places in europe. We just started planning and I was wondering if anyone could give a sample itinerary just so I could start to get a rough idea of some places to go. We Live in atlantic Canada (New Brunswick) and plan on spending 2-3 months traveling in Europe. If anyone could offer a rough estimation of a budget needed to do the trip that would also be great. Any advice at all would help, Thanks.

2000$ per month and you could get by

Berlin is a wicked city, you’ll probably want to stay a week in Berlin.  Other German cities worth seeing include Dresden, Hamburg and Munich.  The next logical step would be through Austria & Czech, and then deciding whether you wanna go east or west

Well its pretty much a whole continent full of countries and cities waiting to be explored.  If you want to do the typical trip head west from Berlin, if you want to save money and see less tourists go East.
The less amount of land you transverse the cheaper the trip will be.  Western europe probably costs about 50-60 euro per day, eastern europe about 30-40, but it all depends.

For me that would include “local transportation” in each city you visit, but not  the transportation cost of getting from city to city.  Assuming you’ll spend a lot of time in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux I’d use the cost of a 2 or 3 month global Eurail pass for setting a budget — you won’t want to buy that pass,(although some kind of railpass will probably save money in Germany and elsewhere in Western Europe) but it will give you a pretty good estimate for what you’ll spend on flights, trains, buses and ferries within Europe.  For transportation costs, Eastern Europe is significantly cheaper than Western Europe, so the budget figure will probably be high if you stay in Eastern Europe.
