Canadian Rockies
Thu, 06/22/2006 - 08:26
Does anyone know of a very inexpensive Canadian Rockies tour of about 7 days or so from Vancouver return? All the ones I have researched have been quite expensive. I am travelling on a shoestring budget, dont mind staying in hostels. thanks.
Hi, I’m from the Canadian rockies! I don’t know of many cheap tours of the area. But you can travel the area by bus for pretty cheap. I don’t know of many hostels in the area either. I know that Calgary has only one hostel. Where exactly do you want to go in the rockies? You definetly need to go to Banff and Lake louise and Jasper. Because that area is very touristy it will be expensive. Hope that helps! You can email me at laurene17@hotmail.com if you want.
EURO trip…
I agree, this is really in the wrong forum, but I can’t fix that.
In other news, i’m going to be headin’ off to the Rockies in just over 2 weeks. I’ll be based in Calgary and will be doing a few day trips out of the city.

It really is a cheap way of travel. It’s what I plan on using.
I have been looking around for a trip too from Calgary to Edmonton and then a train ride from Calgary to Banff to Jasper and then to Edmondton.
Not only it is very expensive, there is also new iternary and I believe some of the routes are now closed.
I was also told to make hotel reservations well in advance otherwise one can get stuck with nothing.
