Cant find any cheap flights to Paris :(

I finish college this year in December. And I was thinking I would celebrate by going to Paris in early January for about 6-7 days. But the cheapest flight i can find is $850 with taxes. Is there anywhere i can find cheaper price than that? I am leaving from Birmingham, Alabama and going to Paris. I was thinking date 4th or 5th January till 12th or 13th January of next year.
Help plz. My budget for whole trip is $1800. I will sleep in cheap hotels and eat free breakfast in morning (and save some for whole day). I think i can make it. only if i can find cheaper flight.
If you’ve got some flexibility with travel dates—such as shifting it a week later—you should do better. Christmas-time travellers often snatch up the cheap seats into the first week of January. Please, post what you find after you’ve tried these suggestions, and we’ll happily advise if we think you could wait for a sale to do better, or if you should book now. Remember that you will still qualify for student/youth fares, too.
Rani, I found $700 on Monday-Wednesday for a 7-day trip from Jan 1 on, BHM to CDG, at www.itasoftware.com . Other days slightly higher, nothing over $800. Or fly to Frankfurt for $600 (M-W) instead if you have other destinations east of France. Use the month-long search option to find the best prices
You should be able to book any flights you find there through Orbitz for a few dollars more.
I would advise you to look for tickets starting jan 15th. AirIndia from Newark to Paris would be about 450.00 including taxes and not sure how much would your domestic flight cost.
I also believe JetAirways is starting something from either Newark or JFK to paris and then on its way to Bombay.
