This is my first time on this site, and I see how helpful it might be. I need a flight the 30 June or 1 July from Birmingham, AL (BHM) to BRU or CDG, returning on the 11th or 12th July. Can anyone help? I haven’t see anything for less than $1050

Where have you checked (so we do not repeat efforts)?

Travelocity; Sidestep; Orbitz; Expedia; mobissimo; Faremax; Delta, AA,Continental are the ones off the top of my head.

Could you go from ATL instead? How do you feel about taking Southwest to BWI, then another airline such as Icelandair to CDG?

You might try Sidestep again for BHM PAR. I see $831 using 30jun\11jul.

I am tempted to take that Sidestep fare, but I wonder if I am too eager! This ticket is for my daughter in BHM. She would have a difficult time driving to ATL and parking her car there long term. How is your crystal ball working? Do you think I can do better by waiting?

The sidestep fare is from Birmingham. It is excellent, and I doubt you will find anything cheaper. In fact, it is more likely to go up as cheaper seat(s) on one or more flight segments sell out.

Hi Don. Sorry! I combined my answers to you in my last post without any transition. She definitely prefers BHM outbound over ATL, in answer to one of your questions.
It seems the flight has already gone up, since I first read your post!!

I just checked again and the 831 fare is still showing available. There’s also one for 832. 30JUN USAir BHM-CLT-PHL, Delta/Air France PHL-PAR; 11JUL Delta/AF PAR-PHL, USair PHL-BHM. Sidestep links this fare to purchase from Orbitz.

I seem to have missed those fares altogether! I spoke with my daughter yesterday, trying to get her to go for the Sidestep ticket, but she had spoken with her boss and needs to wait until July 1 to leave. (Unfortunately it is a Friday!) It looks like I will have to wait until another fare sale, unless you have more ideas. Thanks for your research.

Now my daughter and I are wishing I would have jumped on the fares that were on last week! Do you think the fares will move at all with the gas prices the way they are? I am wondering if the mid-1000’s is good enough and we should just grab it before it gets worse!! I have checked everyday for several weeks and it doesn’t seem to be changing!!

When I put in BHM-BRU on ITA, I get nothing under $1000!

786 sidestep.com but 1 day layovers in London. Kayak.com also found it, and 781 from Huntsville, booking through Orbitz. One flight option Kayak found goes Huntsville to Brussels with 2 connections each way and more reasonable travel durations.

I hate to be a pain, but I never found those fares available. I did look at all of the sites you suggested.be the best case I think if she could fly into BRU (ZYR) and out of CDG that would scenario…either that or CDG round trip.

Hotwire has $925 to BHM-LGW on some of your date combos.
I can’t find the fares Don mentions either – they are probably gone now.
In this scenario I would probably bid on Priceline, very carefully, but not really expect any great deal to happen.

Traveler, Would you just go on and book now at over $1000, or would you wait until the beginning of May?

I don’t know enough about this market to say.
