Cheap fare, long layover in JFK...should I do it?
Sat, 03/05/2011 - 08:46
Hello once again everyone…
I’m changing my flight plan. My Spanish friends are now picking me up in Seville, and I am trying to find a cheap way to fly from Toronto into Seville.
Looking through Travelocity, I found a really good fare (for flying into a much smaller airport): 1093 CND, taxes included. I’ve looked in countless other airfare websites and tried flying on different dates in July and August, but it always gives me this:
Flying from YYZ to Seville, I would have 2 stops and flight+layover time altogether would come to 13 hours (not a big deal to me).
BUT: flying back home in mid-August, I would have a 25 hour (!) flight+layover time to look forward (sigh) to. The longest wait would be in New York’s JFK airport, from about 7 pm to 7 a.m.
So, bottom line: good airfare for a smaller airport (almost same price as Madrid!) but then I’d have that long layover.
I think I can forego comfort if it means I’d have a cheap flight ticket.
I know this sounds crazy, but I want to save as much money as possible and am wondering if it would be possible to try and get cat naps in the airport….I’ve done it before in the uncomfortable BARAJAS aiport in Madrid…many, many times. Is it possible in JFK? Is it safe?
Your thoughts are appreciated.
Gracias amigos,
H.
Hey guys!
Nevermind…found a better deal with Redtag.ca!!!

Even cheaper, flying with American Airlines, and no uber-long layovers.
1081 bucks all included.
Glad to hear!
