Cheap tickets to India from Portland, OR

Hi there,
My girlfriend and I are planning a 4 month trip to India from Portland, OR, USA in the winter (dec?). We are going to go to another country too, though haven’t decided between thailand, indonesia, or vietnam (or others?). We will be in india most of the time. Any thoughts on cheap tickets. we are very flexible. Oh we are trying to get to tamil nadu and kerala. we are no longer students unfortunately

i am also from portland, ore…….i went to india last year from pdx….airfare will be at least $1000…but that will probably be your biggest expense….i found india to be quite inexpensive….
i broke my trip into two…i flew to bangkok, then from bangkok to india….it might be cheaper to do that than trying to fly direct…
you may find cheaper airfares to india from bangkok…check out charlie connection travel in bangkok for cheap tickets…you can look them up on the web….
