I am trying to go to somewhere in North/Eastern Europe around the beginning of December. Most travel sites require that you choose specific travel dates and destination, but I am flexible on both. I can travel during the week and I am only looking for a one way flight because I don’t know where I will be coming back from or when. Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

Hansen

The best one way fares I’ve seen were on http://www.onetravel… Are you American? You’ll have trouble with customs if you just show up with a one way ticket and tell them you want to stay indefinitely. There are ways around this, depending on where exactly you’re going and how that lines up with different border areas

Check visa and entry requirements here: http://www.delta.com…

I’m seeing LAX-OSL $488.

I was thinking of flying into Germany then grabbing low cost busses to head east. I wouldn’t want a round trip flight so what are the methods for getting around it? Thanks!

Cheers,

Hansen

If you fly into Germany or any of 23 other European countries you’ll be landing in the Schengen zone, where you’re allowed a stay of 90 days. You need proof of onward travel, like a plane ticket from a Schengen country to the U.K., showing you’ll exit the zone in 90 days or less. Here’s info about the Schengen zone:
http://travel.state….

I poked around on onetravel.com using Dec. 8 as your departure date and found a number of options for about $300-$350: Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Zurich (non-stop on Swiss), Prague (requires two stops). Vienna is a particularly good deal at $279 on Austrian Airlines.

Ways around it? Proof of onward travel within the allowed tourist days; extended stay-visa pre-arranged before departure; job offer and work permit pre-arranged before arrival. Of these, proof of onward travel is probably easiest and cheapest. Note any insurance and sufficient funds requirements in the link I gave you.
