Choosing between Ghent and Bruge!
Sun, 07/22/2007 - 13:46
hey guys! I’m planning to travel around Europe this summer and I definitely wanna see Belgium. The thing is that I dont’ really know what city to visit – I heard Ghent and Bruge are really good ones, but I have no time for visiting both of them, so I have to choose one out of two. So I need advice from you! Maybe you could tell me what city, in your opinion, is more interesting and cheaper, what one is easy to find good and cheap accommodation in? I’m a budget traveller, so this information would be very helpful. Thanks!
Oksana, I’ve been to both, and I would suggest Brugge.
hands down – Brugge/Bruges
Ghent – Bruggs is way too crowded in the summer. Both are very nice towns though, but Ghent seems more authentic to me
Thank you, guys, for your advice! I still haven’t decided where to go, but I’ve looked through pages with accommodation and it seems that Bruge is easier to find place to stay at. It’s also a more touristic city… However, I still wanna visit both of the cities! But I still have one more question…I think you’ve all been in Belgium, you should know then where it’s possible to stay there – any cheap hostels, camping, anything…Could you help me with that?
If you’re in Brussels, the best place to go is to the Nord Station… once outside you’ll see lots of options, by far the best rates in Brussels are in this region… in the centre they hose ya
As you said yourself, Bruges is the touristic choice of the two. Just go for Ghent.
