Cinque Terre in May 2013
Fri, 10/26/2012 - 08:23
My wife and I plan to visit Cinque Terre, Italy next May. What is the best way to see the five towns? Where are the best places to stay? My wife and I are retired teachers, so we will be on a limited budget.
Thanks so much for your help. Rick
They had major floods and mudslides, I believe in October of last year. So I would be careful in checking whether any information you get is still current. I haven’t been there for quite a few years, so I don’t have any current information, but I would expect it to still be a very scenic place.
Madrid, Toledo
Dublin, Dingle, Dublin
Bruges, Ardennes, Bastogne, Brussels
London
Charleville-Mézières, Reims
I think they have recovered from the landslides.
But a possible alternative that we enjoyed:
Camogli
As with Cleveland, we have not been to Camogli in years, but friends said it still seemed unspoiled and beautiful.
Hi. I visited Cinque Terre about five years ago. I’m also a teacher, so I decided to stay in hostels. I stayed at the 5 terre hostel: http://www.hostel5te…. It was very clean, but you have to wait for the bus to take you up the hill to the hostel. It’s a little less convenient, but it’s cheaper and the view is beautiful from the top. We walked the 5 lands, but you can take a train. It’s quite a hike. You have picked a wonderful location to visit. Enjoy.
