Hey all,

wondering if anyone knows about the rules of German citizenship.
I know that in some European countries American citizens can obtain citizenship by simply having a grandparent born in a specific country. However, I am not sure if it applies to Germany.
Thanks in advance for your reply

Take care

Don’t know about Americans but I’m Canadian, my dad was born in Germany and I am NOT eligible for a German dual citizenship. As soon as my dad got his Canadian citizenship, his German one was void and it’s like he was never a citizen there.
