A couple days in Munich

I have been in Munich for about a day and a half now. I have been enjoying the beer, bratwursts, danishes, and of course the sites. I went on Mike’s Bike Tour today and I would highly recommend it. It was a great way to see the city and get a quick breakdown of the history without digging through a guide book. I have spent a lot of time in Marienplatz and the surrounding area. The shot of the market is from there and that was only one of about 20 markets in that area. In the middle of the market is a beer garden which features tourists and locals enjoying the scene and drinking beer at 10:00am. I was sticking to baked goods and sparkling water because I got a little carried away the night before with the 2 euro half liters at Jaeger’s Hostel and was feeling a little under the weather.

I am now back at the hostel trying to figure out how to get my Canadian iPhone to work in Europe. It has been a bit of a challenge that I have not gotten totally sorted yet. Luckily I am able to use WiFi with my phone, so I am able to use Skype to make calls from the hostel.
