Do any of you know how safe these places are?
Has anyone been there recently that can let me know if it is worth to go to any of these countries. I am interested not only in going to see the sites, but I also want to get a feel for what the recent turmoil has done to the area – not to gawk at it, but because I have always lived in a very safe area and want to know what it would be like to live in a different situation.

I am also interested in anyone’s opinions on Bulgaria and Romania? worth going to? where?
