Has anyone out there had a safe experience in Romania? A traveling friend of mine went in by himself and lost almost $600 trying to get out alive. Police took his passport and refused to return it until he gave them money and he had to bribe train officials. The list of things like this goes on. He isn’t scared of anything and he was seriously woried about his life. I’ve heard this isn’t uncommon in Romania. Does anyone else have any stories there?
