Delayed Departure - Recovery
Miscellaneous Tip
I was recently the victim of a delayed flight departure from Dulles, Va to Heathrow London. This delay (Only one hour) caused me to miss a connecting flight back to Ireland and I had to shell out €561.00 for three of us to take a later flight. However, I had arranged an annual Travel insurance policy and once I provided the loss adjusters with a Letter from the Carrier confirming that there had been a delay, I recovered all of the outlay. Whew! Was I chuffed! The thing was that this happened at the end of a two week holiday in the USA and I was a bit low on funds, jet lagged etc. I know this is a Euro trip site, but. The advice is still the same. Don’t travel without arranging insurance. The main reason for insurance is for Medical Cover, which can be very expensive if you are far from home. But there are other benefits included in thease policies which can be really useful.
I wasn’t aware of that, thanks so much for the tip!
