Digital Camera: Download pics
Mon, 05/08/2006 - 23:37
Hey everyone!
I have a basic digital camera. How easy would it be for me to download pictures from my digital camera to a picture site. (This requires plugging my camera into a computer)
I’d hate to pay for an expensive new camera card with lots of storage space.
Thanks, and best of luck to you all!

It depends. Most internet cafe’s do not allow connection of devices, or actually some may even lack the USB ports. Overall, your chances to download the photos at internet cafes are slim to none. However, if your hostel/hotel has a PC with internet connection, chances are you can do it there. But do take into consideration if your camera requires drivers/software, as they probably will frown at installation of the software.
One thing that a lot of backpackers do is take their cards to photo-shops where they can get the pictures put on CD. If you decide to do this, you could mail one copy home, and maybe keep a copy with you till you get back yourself. If you’re going to erase them from your card, you should have two copies as back-up.
Cheers
Great backpacking advice found at www.europeanpilgrima…
Thanks for the advice about copying my pictures to a CD, and thanks for the link.
You’ve been very helpful!
