Disaster Plan- How much will I need for the basics?

So, anyway, try as I might, I never got a good job over vintage (grape harvest). Considering if there’s a similar outcome for next year, I’m looking at what the rough minimum I will need to get myself overseas with.

So, how much do you think it’d cost me to live in the UK for each day/week/month/whatever? I need enough money for proof in the visa application, as well as enough funds to have me living reasonably comfortably while I look for work (though of course if I can get a job lined up beforehand, that’d make for a good application).

Flights look to be about 1500 from Melbourne to London, and all in all I think my visa, passports, etc will be change from $1000. I was thinking maybe 10,000 above that, but that doesn’t look like much at all when you slice it in half with exchange rates…
