Do I really need my Ipod?
Sun, 05/10/2009 - 14:47
Realistically do I need my Ipod? Do you guys really use them that frequently when traveling??
I am leaving from Chicago with $2500 for 23 days
Dublin, Cork, London, Paris, Munich, Interlaken, Rome, Athens, Nafplion, Florence, Barcelona

Not so much exploring cities and such. But for traveling long or short distances and maybe trying to drone out a loud snorer they are great.
London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, London
Porto, Lisbon, Lagos, Seville, Granada, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Pamplona, La Spezia, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Venice, Split
I agree that an iPod is good for train travel. It can take the edge off if it’s a really long trip or if you have a neighbor who is loud or what not…

Ipod is so 2002…I use my MP3 player (with built in radio). Lots of free sites where you can download walking tours for use in larger cities, etc.

The only draw back on ipod’s, mp3’s etc are that they can make you seam less approachable and may ruin the chance of meeting someone on a train, ferry etc.
Personally i did not use one last time but it’s up to the individual to assess how often they would make use of one.
